just a few...

creations to share with you today!

Denise sent me this new little chandelier stamp from Heidi Swapp. I love it! It is so glam! Also, here are a few Sarah layouts I've done recently. I soooo love to scrap the girlie stuff!

Got a crazy day today! Got three appointments between me and the boys and I get to go visit my friend Stacey and her little kiddies. She is taking care of her twin niece and nephew full time now because their dad, Tom found a job, Yeah!!! They are smiling like crazy now and so cute! Speaking of Stacey, I kidnapped her the other night and took her to a way stupid funny movie, Baby Mama. We laughed our butts off. I will never hold a bottle of EVOO again without thinking of the "T" word! LOL!

Hope your Wednesday is a good one! I'll leave you with a quote:

"The miracle is this - the more we share, the more we have."
- Leonard Nimoy

What are you going to share today? I'm going to share my charm, wit, and personality! :0)

Plugged In!!

Nick told me yesterday was his best day ever. I've never seen him so happy! He idolizes his friend Jeff who took him to Guitar Center yesterday and helped him pick out his first electric guitar!! His first of many I'm sure! Jeff owns 17! AAAAHHH! Oh and I'm totally stocking up on the big "E" (Excedrin!) because Jeff lent him one of his big ass amps and my windows are rattling! Nick played for hours yesterday into the night and before school today.

I'm thrilled to see my boy who has had such a hard time with depression this year so HaPpY!!

Rock On, Nick!

Nick's Big A** Birthday Cupcake!!

Spent this morning baking Nick's special cake. Got lots of "help" from Nick and Nate!! The frosting came out a little droopy because none of us wanted to wait for the cake to cool to frost it! Yummy!

HaPpY BiRtHdAy NiCk!!!

Nick is celebrating his 12th birthday today! He gets to go on a field trip to Guitar Center with my friend Jenn's son, Jeff. Jeff is a guitar EXPERT! He is hoping he has saved up enough to get his first electric guitar and amp!

I also need to give a shout-out to two of my closest friends, Chris and Alina!! It's their birthday today too! Love you gals!

Have a fabulous Sunday! We have sunshine and warm temps (finally!) today.

Sweet news...

I got two requests today for layouts to be published in Scrapbook Trends (the coolest of all the mags, in my opinion!) for the September issue. They are two of my favorites so I am so excited. One is a super girlie layout I did of Denise's daughter, Sarah and the other is the one I just did of my Mom and Nate! That is so bittersweet.

Oh well, I just had to share my news. Hope you are all having a fabulous Saturday afternoon! I am!

Hugs,
L

Feeling better...

My back is on the mend so I have been creating again. I am loving the new Making Memories line called Animal Crackers. These papers are the boy line called Jack. They are not just for babies! I usually don't like pastels too much but this line is so great. Here are a couple of layouts and a couple of cards I made:

Today I have to sew pillows that I have been procrastinating! Hope you have a great Wednesday!

Earth Day...

Doing our part!

This morning I was visiting with my friend Jenn. She wanted me to take her to the store for a few things. We drove by this dumpster with this huge chalkboard in front of it. I think it was behind a pre-school. We saw some people carrying out more stuff so we asked them if they minded if we took it. They were thrilled. Now it won't end up in a landfill somewhere! Nate is loving it right in our family room but I'm going to put it up in his bedroom.

I'm really feeling like I need to switch to canvas reusable grocery bags but if I do, what is Joe going to use to pick up the dog poop??? Such burning questions, LOL!

my fave...

Here is a layout I did a couple of weeks ago (because you asked so nicely, Miss Marie!). I adore these pictures. I think this may be my favorite layout. I say that about all of them, I know! I miss my mum.

Hugs!

Happy Patriots' Day

Boston's favorite holiday, Patriots' Day celebrates the first battles of the Revolutionary War, the Battle of Lexington and the Battle of Concord, the site of that "shot heard round the world." Today, April 19, is the "official" Patriots' Day (and the day on which the battles were fought in 1775), but the holiday is officially celebrated on the third Monday in April. The Boston Marathon is held on Patriots day and the Red Sox are always at home and play a very early 11:00 am start (which is 9:00 am here in Idaho!) I've got my Sox on during breakfast this morning. What a way to start the day!

Just a quote for today...

Instead of judging, start accepting yourself
with all the imperfections, all the frailties,
all the mistakes, all the failures.
Don't ask yourself to be perfect.
That is simply asking something impossible,
and then you are feeling frustrated.
You are a human being.

Sorry...

I've been dealing with back problems lately. What hurts the most is sitting at the computer or scrapping. Bummer. I've had to sit leaning back with an ice pack for five days. Not so much fun. Watching a lot of baseball and reading. Just finished The Memory Keepers Daughter. Didn't think I'd like it so much. Loved it.

Hopefully I'll be pain free soon and can give you all a catch up post.

In the mean time, here is a picture of the license plate frame Denise sent me for my car. How funny!

Inspiration...

I took this picture of my friend Stacey and her daughter, Annalise about a year and a half ago. I love this photo. I desaturated the color to give it a vintage look. I had it hanging on my wall in my scrap room recently. When my friend Denise sent me the new Bella Girl collection by Teresa Collins, I knew that the papers were perfect for this photo. Sometimes I am inspired by a photo. Sometimes by beautiful paper. What inspires you to create?

This layout was featured on Teresa's blog today!

A day at the ranch...

No, you did not click on P-Dub's blog by mistake! :0)

My inlaws are in town this week so we all gathered at Kirk's cousin's ranch yesterday. The boys had a blast riding horses and ATVs and getting to know how things run there. They had to brand a few calves so we got to watch Fred and David rope them while Diane branded. My son Joe even helped hold down the calf for the branding! This was a lot to take in for this city slicker! I got lots of great photos of all the activity. The boys can't wait to go back. Um, I think I'll be busy that day, LOL!

WAAD

April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day

Did you know…

*Autism affects as many as 1 in 150 children and 1 in 94 boys Autism is the fastest- growing serious developmental disability in the world

*More children will be diagnosed with autism this year than with diabetes, cancer, & AIDS combined

*Boys are four times more likely than girls to have autism

*There is no medical detection or cure for autism, but early diagnosis and intervention improve outcomes

*Autism does not discriminate by geography, class, or ethnicity

Please go to the Autism Speaks website to learn more about their organization and all that they do!

I have a badge on my sidebar which raises money for Autism Speaks, a charity near and dear to me. Won't you help? If you make a {tax deductible} donation this month (Autism Awareness Month) just leave me a comment to let me know. I will choose one generous giver on May 1st to receive a beautiful custom made photo pillow from yours truly!

Thanks from the bottom of my heart!
